Students with special educational needs present both challenges and opportunities for school districts, regardless of size and demographics. Parents of students with disabilities may be an untapped or under-utilized resource. This conference will help participants to actively and effectively listen to the true experts.

Mimi Mumm, LICSW, Ph.D., received her BA in Psychology and her MSW from SUNY at Buffalo. She practiced as a school social worker at Aroostook Academy in Northern Maine. She continued her education at Rutgers University where she received her Ph.D. in Social Work. She is a faculty member at Rhode Island College, School of Social Work, in Providence. She maintains a small clinical practice in Worcester focusing on children with emotional and behavioral issues.
